Showdown 2011 Final - Personal Review: Bounce Stepperz

Hye Readers,

Bounce Stepperz (BOS) are the underdog crew in this competition..They start shaky when they happen to be in battle rounds earlier in this competition. After a few week and people are start to noticing what they have to offer and from there they never fell into the bottom 4 until toward the top 6 Live Show

BOS really bring something new in dance world by entertain us with new element which is called Street Traditional. Every steps of their routine they will put some traditional and mixed it with common element that we see in the dance world.

At the Top 4 Live show Showdown reveal us with the current standing and im quite shock when see that they are at the 2^nd best of the vote until that night..hehehe..Although there were some argument about the decision but I personally think they deserved to be where they are.

Maybe some of us forget that the task that they are carrying by bringing the new element is hard. It’s take time for people to accept anything new in life..so were their element.. Anyway I fell proud about them and still think what ever happen they already succeed in their task.

For the fans you might know and aware about their performance but for the neutrals I would like to show you some a video clips and you can see it for yourselfwhat are they offering to the Malaysian dancing industry

After watching that kind of performance you will notice that they worth the vote..They Fans are not so big like other finalist in this competition but their spirit to bring traditional into the other level..Some might question that traditional is not supposed to mix with the modern but if thru this mixing we can attract younger generation to learn traditional dance why not we support them?

All the best to Bounce Stepperz and I hope they will get more vote from others especially from people who don’t notice what they are about to offer in dancing industry..till my next entry

Showdown 2011- Personal Review HMC PHLOW

Hye Readers,

We are entering the final stage of Showdown 2011 and we will know the winner of showdown 2011 soon..One of the finalist of this season is HMC Phlow which is one of the favorite crew to win this competition..

Leading by Farouk and Fuzz, Fareez, Epul, Angah as the team member, they been the most entertaining crew to watch in this year showdown..Their performance never failed to entertain me and I think most of the fan.

Although this year they were shadowed by ECX, they never take things lightly when it’s come to performance and it can be watched week in and week out throughout this campaign. Although they won the best performance just one they spirit to win this competition is still high.

HMC also got all the experience they need from last year competition. For the fans I don’t think I need to remind you how good they are but for the neutral HMC is the one crew u got too keep eye on. They have all the talent and im sure after looking at this video you will feel like it’s worth to vote for them.

  

Actually the particular I pick this video because its influence me in some way. Frankly I almost forgot about that song but now when I hear the song HMC routine keeps playing on my mind..lol…But I think if you search on the youtube you can fine more of HMC there..

I observed the Showdown Fan pages and I have to praise HMC fans too..They keep mind their own business without condemned others and I kindda like that attitude..(unless i missed something..i dont sit there 24/7). Personally I think not winning best performance is making they are less pressure than others.

So what are you waiting for??they are good..talented..creative..funny.. crew to watch..keep on voting and to the fans keep others know about this crew..I think if they win this competition they will be no argument about that..Till my next entry…

Showdown 2011- Conspiracy Theory

Hye SD fans,

Last night Showdown (SD) shock their fans by announcing that all 4 remaining crew will be entering the final. That is good news to all people who watching because all the crew is really deserved a spot at the final show. Towards the end SD reveal the shocking news when they announce that ECX are at the 3^rd place based on the vote (click here)..

I can guess that some of the ECX fan will not be satisfied with this and my guess is right. The minute I’m enter the Fan pages I can see some of the fan are questioning the result..

As you can see in the picture this is some of the fans who not satisfied with the last night voting result. They might have their argument and for me I can think there might be two different story here..

          Manipulate

ECX fans might have been right because they think by ranked ECX in third make them vote and who will make profit of it??We might seen this happen at many kind of reality TV such as Maharaja Lawak, AF 1-9 and a few more..calling back the eliminated contestant is the other way to make it profit..

But is that really happen or there might be another explanation??

          Carried Away

I don’t think this happen to the die hard fans but maybe for an average fan they might be carried away by the good performance by ECX and Praises by the jugde and they forgot that the vote still count..When other fans keep voting week in and week out they came closer and judging that EXC never fall into the bottom 4 make them think that ECX already win.

But anyway after 24 Hours the result came out the theory about this conspiracy is fading. Maybe because they realized that this is not the end, there still another week to go.

Anyway there something that make me sick on the Fan pages…There are somebody who try to play with racism in this competition..They keep saying that if ECX doesn’t win the showdown fans are racist..for this people info I’ve seen many of other ethnic pledge to ECX..if I have the free time I’ll prove it to these kind of people..

So..keep your voting coming in and to all ECX fan don’t lose faith because the journey its not over yet..all the best to the crew at the final!!!!

Showdown 2011 – Shocking Night

Hye SD fans,

Its been a shocking night when Showdown announce to us the all the top 4 will make it to the final of Showdown 2011 on next 7 days..Well I’m not sure about the decision whether they make it on the spot or they actually planned this move..Well I don’t wanna make any comment about that coz I fell that all crew remaining is actually deserved a spot at the final.

Maybe there are some pressure to the judges if they wanna eliminated one crew this week..Frankly if I were in the judges shoe I don’t know which crew I gonna sent home because they all blew my mind on stage..

Showdown also revealed us the shocking current standing for the vote at this moment which is:-

1)    HMC Phlow

2)   Bounce Stepperz

3)   Elecoldxhot

4)    Rokusteps

This current ranking also bring issue some of the fans thinking that Showdown manipulate the standing to get more vote..There might have a case there but we don’t know for sure if the standing is being manipulated.

I don’t want to comment about the voting course I don’t know nothing about detail..Some of the fans might be mad about this but this is not the end yet..There still another week to determine who is the winner..and I hope the best crew wins this competition..I’ll write about showdown soon..hehe..Until my next entry

Showdown 2011 Personal Review - Rokusteps

Hye Readers,

This is one of the strongest b’boy crew in this competition..from week after week they put their best in performance but still in the bottom 4 for several occasion..

For the fans there no need for me to tell them how good is the crew..but for the neutral, this crew is worth to watch..they performance is quite good from week after week and to be honest I hope they will not be eliminated for this weeks..

Their history is quite impressive since they have dance for Malaysian top artist and some of them are the biggest stage of Malaysia..now let see on what stage they have perform..

• Era Awards 2005 (Too phat)
• Era Awards 2006 (Samir)
• Sri Angkasa Awards (Too Phat)
• AIM Awards 2006 (Ahli Fiqir)

That’s  is part of their past performance in dancing on stage but actually there a lot more which I’m  not able to list it here..You can find it on their official Fan Pages (click here)

Frankly I think they can made it  at least at the top 5 but they will need all the help from the fans to vote them..For the fans beside voting there a things that u can still do to help them by spearding the word of the crew and win them vote from the neutral..

For the neutral just watch them perform and judge them urself..I know this crew is worth to watch and vote..

Different Battle Dance in the Street and National TV

First of all this is just my opinion based on what I know, so there no right and wrong here, it’s all up to how you take my opinion..I write this following several comment on my previous entry about Rokustep (click here) that I get from my blog, FB and several other sources..

This is just want of several to come and I don’t want to put all in at one entry coz u might fell boring when reading. Some of the feedback told me that since in not a dancer so they think I don’t know anything about Street Dance and Bboy lifestyle. Please note that what I say applied to all crew who want to compete at national level.

Before we get to the differences let me feed you what is the quotes on what is Street Dance…

“evolved outside of dance studios in any available open space such as streets, dance parties, block parties, parks, school yards, raves, and nightclubs”,

“examples of street dance include B-boying, more commonly known as breakdancing, which originated in New York City Melbourne Shuffle which originated in Melbourne, Australia and Tectonic which originated in Paris, France” (wikipedia)

Obviously Street Dance doesn’t refer into Bboy only.maybe that the culture here..I don’t know much about Bboy culture in Malaysia. So now let see what the differences are when you dance in the street and competition in front of national TV.

1)    Format,

-As far as I know there is no judge in the street dance. What they have is a Moderator who responsible in controls the competition. The result came from the fans it`s self on which crew there are supporting.

- National TV competition is where they appoint the judge to control the crew that competes. That why the judge have the power to save one crew he think deserve to go to the next round BUT the winner still came from The fans.

2)   Audience

-Street Dance gathers all the people who like to dance, people who like the culture and mostly the youth and some kids maybe. Who knows??

- National TV where all kind of people watch the show. From 10 years old to 50years old people.From Professional profession to not so professional. This happen because they don’t have to go to the venue and they can watch it from home.

3)   Effect After competition.

-When you leave as a winner you will leave a reputation as a popular crew. People will talk about you from time to time

- When you leave the competition you will recognize as a “public Figure” people will talk about you, The TV Company will interview you, The magazine and newspaper will write about you. Personal writer like me will write about you. Some of the kid might make you an idol and many more..

This is some of the differences between taking on the street and taking on the national TV. Actually it make huge different and what I say about before this is not the quality of the performance. It’s more on professionalism.That why I think that professionalism is a big issue on developing any crew to the next level.

I hate to involve other crew coz u might think I’m bias (berat sebelah) on this issue but take HMC for an example. I remember if I not mistaken faroq pull of his member after their routine just to make way to Panic turn.Joe(ECX) put up a statement that they are dance with heart after a comment from a fans who said that Dennis will laugh at this competition coz it’s so easy compared to other competition

Now that what we call professional. I know the nature of the street required aggressive attitude when battling but can't we consider it on national TV. There might be kids watching and we don’t want to influence them with bad attitude from street.
